Earlier in the week, Baptist Health responded to a request from the Kentucky Department of Health to create an online portal to meet the goal of vaccinating as many health care workers as possible by the end of January.
While officials say the page clearly outlined the vaccine is only available for Phase 1A health care personnel only, the scheduling tool did not display this information.
The mishap resulted in many people signing up for appointments, thinking the vaccines were open to the general public.
“This will go a long way in advancing our goal to vaccinate and protect our communities. “At this time, the health system is honoring appointments made through the online scheduling system.
Online scheduling for the next two weeks is currently full and not accepting additional appointments, but future openings will be available for patients soon, officials.
